Devlog 4: Production sprint 1, week 2
Hello and welcome to this week's update!
Production continues, and among other things, this week both our main characters got textured! They have multiple textures with different colors, as each player will be able to chose their color when joining the game.
Our first vfx is also in the game! Its a wind current particle, and when a player passes through it they receive a boost of wind . In terms of environment assets, this week we made a sculpt for the spikes and we finished texturing some of our foliage. When a player touches a spike in-game, they will bounce back and be stunned by it. The foliage will be added to the level for decoration.
First our characters:
And the environment assets:
Our artists also worked on a basic level design. During prototyping we had already made several test levels, but thanks to our new split screen camera we showed last week, the level can now be as high as we want to.
In terms of programming, work continued on improving the split screen camera and implementing the basic gameplay. Last week the transition from split screen to full screen caused some jittering near the split, but that was smoothened out this week:
Besides the camera, work was done on adding and improving the dash ability. The throw ability, to throw the little guy, was also added.
Thats all for this week folks, join us again next week for more!
