Devlog 9: Polish sprint, week 1


Hello!

Last week we completed work on all the game features, and the coming 2 weeks are all about polishing our game to make it look and feel as good as we can. We've done quite alot of work in the first week already, and here is what we have!

Alot of sounds have been implemented in the game now. The music that we shared  in previous devlogs is in, plus menu sounds, a throw sound, a Bo summon sound and a whole other bunch of sounds as well. Sounds sounds sounds. Basically our entire game now has sounds implemented.

Visually, we upped the quality of alot of assets. We changed some stuff around in the menus, making them more clean and readable. In the main menu for example, the player characters are now larger on screen:


Level-wise we've added particles, changed the background and added vines. Our background now has more detail in it. The color of the sky has been adjusted to better contrast with the aiming arrow of the players. There's clouds now too:



As you've might've noticed in one of the previous screenshots, vines have been added to the level as well. There are 2 large vines creeping up the sides and every platform now has vines on it. These vines wiggle around in-game.


We can keep going with the level, as the mushrooms have been adjusted too. There are now multiple small mushrooms around their base, integrating the big mushroom into the level better. And now every time a player jumps on a mushroom, a puff of spores appears!

We could keep going for a while, but we'll leave you with this: the goal of the level has been made more attractive  with rays of light appearing from behind it now:
