Devlog 5: Production sprint 1, week 3


Welcome back!

This is the last week of the first production sprint and next week will be the start of the second  3-week production sprint. 

On the art side, this week, we:

  • Rigged the characters
  • Made and textured the goal
  • Textured and integrated our spike mesh in the level
  • Finished the tree asset
  • And integrated the foliage in our level

As always we'll start the devlog by showing our characters: this week both characters were fully rigged and they're now ready for animating. Thumbs up!



The goal for our game also got finished. These bananas are what our monkeys will hurt eachother for:


These bananas are at the top of our level.

Speaking of our level, it changed alot this week since we integrated the foliage, trees and spikes. Here are two screenshots form around the level. (Ignore the blocks with checker textures, they will be replaced in the future.)



And this is currently what the starting zone looks like:

The foliage was implemented using the foliage painter in Unreal, which really sped up the process.

In terms of progamming, work is continuing on implementing all the abilities for the characters. This week the throw, slap, summon and dash ability for our small character were finalised.
