Devlog 8: Production sprint 2, week 3
Welcome back Bouncers!
It's the last week of the final sprint so this week we've been finishing the game! We're pleased to say that everything we wanted, plus some extra things, are now in the game! This week we've finalised the menus, the gameloop and animations. We even added some rfx that were previously planned for the polish phase.
Let's start with the ... start menu:
On this screen players can view the controls and choose their color before starting the game.
The countdown before the game starts is now fully implemented too:
We've also updated the image of the controls, and we're still going to add an image of how to play the game as well.
Some rfx were also added to the game. We had originally planned these for the polish sprint, but we had some time left to add some this week too. We've added an effect that plays when Nana gets stunned, butterflies that fly around the level, sparkles around the pickup box, a dash particle and an effect that plays when 2 players slap at the same time. Wow!
The base game is now finished. Next week we start the polish phase, where we fine tune everything we can before the end of the sprint (and the semester!). In practice this will mean we iron out some bugs and maybe up the quality of some assets and animations. Or we'll add another level, who knows?
